How to Learn a Foreign Language

Some rules you must abide by: You must never ponder and delay if you want to attend foreign language courses as they are not like any other courses. Any postponement means failure in a foreign language course where it is mandatory to put in minimum of 3 hours weekly and 15 minutes on a daily basis. While you would benefit if you devote any additional time to study the language but make sure that each session does not last more than 45 minutes.

Foriegn Language

Fork out your whole study material into several manageable units. It is imperative that you attend classes regularly, if you are sincere about your intentions of learning the language and pass the course. Run through your past learning on a regular basis as this is going to improve your learning for example check out your stock of vocabulary. Below are some suggestions to make the different parts of learning a foreign language easier and more successful.

Running through printed material: Focus on reading purely for comprehension and do not stop when you come across new words. Everyday stay in touch with the language and glance through the chapters of the text book.

Start talking: Making mistakes is natural so listen to others in the class and start to speak. You can start practicing the foreign language by talking to your self, talking to others who are in the same class or even with your pet dog or cat.

Scribbling: Know how to pen down ideas everyday till it comes naturally to you.

Write down a passage of the language as part of a dictation from a friend and then correct your own writing.

Medley of helps: You ought to have a goal and a good reason for studying the foreign language and develop good feelings towards it. Know what you are going to get from your studies and how to get them.
1.If you need help get it and do not be afraid to ask questions or ask for help for fear of sounding stupid, or being embarrassed.
2.Get audio tapes of the language and listen to them or make you own tapes and listened to yourself in order to perfect your pronunciation.
3.An interesting way to develop vocabulary is to make flash cards where different colors depict different genders and words like nouns, verbs and adjectives.
4.If you practice studying in groups, you can make good friends with your classmates which would be eager to help you out.
